I'm Dr Paul Ferguson, an independent AI consultant and advisor based in Dublin. I help organisations work out where AI is useful, assess the options and make it work in practice.
My work includes consulting, technical and board advisory, speaking and workshops. You might need an independent view on a proposal, help with a system already underway, or a clearer understanding of AI for your team.

I work with organisations in Ireland and internationally. Being based in Dublin makes local meetings possible, while remote collaboration keeps the arrangement flexible.
In-person availability
We can meet for a planning session, work through a decision with your team, or run a workshop in person. Much of my consulting work happens remotely; we can agree where meeting in person would be useful.
Governance in practice
I can help your team examine how data is used, how an AI system is evaluated and what oversight it needs. These questions belong in the work from the start, alongside input from your legal and compliance colleagues.
Irish working hours
I work Irish business hours, making it straightforward to arrange sessions with teams in Ireland, the UK and Europe. For US teams, calls can often fit into your morning and my afternoon, depending on your time zone.
Experience behind the advice
I bring more than 20 years in applied AI, from a PhD in information retrieval and industry-focused research to leading data science teams at UnitedHealth Group and delivering AI systems as an independent consultant. I still do that work today through Clearlead AI Consulting, across the whole field of AI rather than generative AI alone.
That combination helps me connect technical questions with the decisions an organisation needs to make: whether an approach is feasible, what delivery would involve, and whether AI is the right choice at all. An assessment or advisory engagement can stand on its own; it does not have to lead to a build.
